WordPress build & design
Built from scratch on WordPress — clean layout, mobile-friendly, and designed to feel like the pub itself: welcoming, unfussy, easy to navigate.
Case study · Hospitality
A local pub with a big community presence — built on WordPress, hosted with us, maintained monthly, and kept connected to its regulars through a blog that publishes to the website and Facebook at the same time. This is what hands-on site management looks like in practice.
Live and managed by Zenlabra since launch.
A community pub that needed a
real web presence.
The Angel Inn is a well-loved local — the kind of place with regulars, events, and a community that genuinely wants to know what's on. They needed a website that reflected that warmth, stayed up to date without becoming a chore, and didn't require the landlord to learn WordPress.
The pub also has an active Facebook following, and that's where a lot of locals actually look. Maintaining two channels by hand is exactly the sort of job that gets started enthusiastically and abandoned by March.
So we took the whole lot on. Zenlabra built the site, hosts it, maintains it, and writes and publishes the blog — with every post syncing to Facebook automatically. It runs, and it keeps running, without the client needing to touch the technical side.
Everything we provide for The Angel Inn
Not a build-and-leave job. This is an ongoing arrangement covering the site, the server and the content that goes on it.
Built from scratch on WordPress — clean layout, mobile-friendly, and designed to feel like the pub itself: welcoming, unfussy, easy to navigate.
Hosted on Zenlabra's UK-based infrastructure. SSL, daily backups and a 99.9% uptime target as standard — the pub's site is always on.
Regular posts written, formatted and published straight to the site — events, specials, seasonal news and what's on. No input needed from the client.
Every blog post published to the site syncs across to the pub's Facebook page — keeping followers informed without any double-handling.
Core, plugin and theme updates handled monthly, plus form checks, performance monitoring and a quick content review to keep things fresh and functional.
HTTPS across the whole site, Cloudflare DNS for speed and protection, and daily backups so everything is recoverable if it ever needs to be.
Content, handled
The pub has an active Facebook following — locals who want to know about quiz nights, live music, seasonal menus and events. Rather than maintaining two separate channels by hand, we built a workflow that publishes to both at once.
The landlord sends a quick message about what's coming up. We do the rest. The post appears on the website and on Facebook, in the pub's own voice, without anyone copying and pasting anything.
It's a small thing that makes a large difference: the pub stays visible to its regulars, consistently, without it becoming a job.
How it's built
The site runs on Zenlabra's HestiaCP-managed VPS — a UK-based server with full PHP and MySQL support, isolated from shared hosting risks and configured specifically for WordPress performance.
All traffic routes through Cloudflare for DNS management, HTTPS everywhere, and a layer of DDoS protection and caching — keeping the site fast and reliably reachable.
Publishing a WordPress post triggers an automated publish to the pub's Facebook page through a configured sync integration. The landlord sees it go live on both channels without touching either.
Core, theme and plugin updates are managed through WP Umbrella, with uptime monitoring and a monthly maintenance window to keep everything stable and predictable.
Full site backups run daily and are stored off the live server. If anything ever goes wrong — a bad update, a compromise, or something unexpected — we can restore quickly.
We just wanted the website to work and to keep our regulars in the loop without it becoming a part-time job. That's exactly what we got.
